SMASH Berlin - it's just the beginning, it's not the end, things will never be the same again

ok, so I spent the most amazing 3 months (mid August - mid November 2013) in an art experiment called SMASH Berlin - an experimental physical performance course. It was liberating, challenging, ground shaking, body moving, mind blowing, heart opening magic. see http://www.smash-berlin.com/

It has changed me on a core level and continues to do so. I would recommend anybody of any age to do things like this. Yes, it makes you confront your boundaries but for me that is what I needed. And it helped me get out of my head and into to my body and soul. It wasn't just performance. It was deep deep medicine and healing, created by wonderful teachers, participants, and a special sacred space created by all.

Michael Hartnett - Mícheál Ó hAirtnéide

A portrait to celebrate Michael Hartnett - a Local poet from my hometown of Newcastle West. His works are brilliantly crafted and convey such a range of emotion. I want to thank him for following his craft and influencing me to follow my path.
There is a local poetry, literary, and arts festival in honour of him every year. http://www.eigsemichaelhartnett.ie/
I painted this portrait of Luke Kelly as part of my 2012 exhibition in The Icon Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin.

Here is a link to one of his powerful songs.. "For what died the sons of Róisín?"

Sun, where art thou?

 The sun will return...sometime.
The power of thought and focus creates our lives. At the moment I am finding the dull gray skies and wet weather draining to say the least. I think I might be dealing with SADS (that seaasonal affective disorder).  Here I remember a trip to the Aran Islands last year and remind myself that the sunshine will come and everything must pass.

Happy new year...here is to a great 2013. I've been away for a while but I plan on changing things up and sharing more work again. Enjoy
Emotional body
Here is a little illustration made with paper and a few lines in Photoshop. It's based on the emotions that arise within our body...
